Why Dr. Wounds
Wound care has changed. Patient access shouldn’t.
Access to wound care is greatly diminished, and getting the right expertise can be complicated. Patients and families face transportation challenges, scheduling delays, fragmented care, and uncertainty about when a wound needs another level of evaluation. Using insurance
Virtual wound consultations and in-person care can often be billed through insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, and most major commercial carriers. When you start, our team verifies whether your visit qualifies, so covered care stays covered.
Paying directly
When insurance doesn’t apply, or you prefer not to wait on it, a transparent self-pay option is available for virtual consultations and select services when appropriate. You’ll know the cost before you commit to anything.

If you request by email instead, a coordinator will confirm availability, explain virtual or in-person options, and provide instructions for sharing clinical information securely.
